Terms of service

Last updated · July 2026

These terms are a plain-language template, shared for transparency while our final legal review is completed. They set out the basic agreement between you and Dear Theo.

By using Dear Theo, you agree to these terms. They are written to be read — the intent is a fair, straightforward relationship, not fine print.

Using Dear Theo

You may use Dear Theo if you can form a binding agreement with us and you use it in line with these terms and applicable law. You are responsible for the activity in your workspace and for the people you invite into it.

Your account

You sign in through Google. Keep your account secure, and let us know promptly if you believe it has been accessed without your permission. You are responsible for the confidentiality of any credentials and API keys you connect.

Your content and ownership

You keep ownership of the material you upload and of the concepts, copy, stills, and films generated in your workspace. To provide the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the product for you.

You are responsible for holding the rights to the material you upload, and for how you ultimately use the work you produce.

Acceptable use

Please do not use Dear Theo to create or distribute unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, to abuse or disrupt the service, or to reverse-engineer or resell it. Respect the terms of any third-party providers you connect.

Third-party providers and API keys

Dear Theo orchestrates third-party language, image, and video models. When you connect your own provider keys, generation runs on your provider account, and that provider's usage charges and terms apply. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the availability, pricing, or output of third-party providers.

AI-generated output

Generated concepts, copy, and media are produced by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a given use. You are responsible for reviewing and approving anything before you rely on it, publish it, or share it with a client.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed per seat as described on our pricing page, and apply once your early-access place opens. You can change or cancel your plan as your team's needs change. If you bring your own models, model usage is billed by your provider, not by us.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Dear Theo available and improving, and we may add, change, or remove features over time. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties beyond those required by law.

Termination

You can stop using Dear Theo at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or if it is necessary to protect the service or its users. On termination, you will have a reasonable opportunity to export your content, after which it may be deleted.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Dear Theo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the output of third-party providers. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and our obligations evolve. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the product.
